"Less but better..."
..is more than just a rule for better design. It is the conceptual foundation of this animated short film, which explores reduction, clarity, and conscious simplicity in a world defined by visual overload.

The A nimation project draws inspiration from Dieter Rams, the German industrial designer whose work for Braun shaped generations of products — and ways of thinking.
His design philosophy feels more relevant than ever today, as we navigate an environment saturated with colors, shapes, interfaces, and constant stimulation.

Concept & Narrative
Rather than telling a linear story, the film unfolds as a series of visual thoughts. Each scene reduces complexity step by step, stripping away excess until only the essential remains. Objects dissolve, forms simplify, and movements slow down — inviting the viewer to pause and reflect. The animation asks a simple question: What happens when we remove everything that is not necessary?

Making Of
From Complexity to Clarity
1. Visual Research
I started by collecting references from industrial design, architecture, and interface systems that embody reduction. Braun products, modernist posters, and minimal motion graphics played a central role in shaping the tone.
2. Building Complex Scenes
In animation, complexity was created intentionally: multiple layers, overlapping motions, and competing shapes. These scenes represent our everyday visual reality.
4. Reduction Through Motion
Instead of cutting elements abruptly, reduction happens in motion. Forms merge, fade, align, or disappear. The animation itself becomes the design tool.

Sketching & Storyboarding
Each scene began as a dense composition. Through iterative sketches, I explored how much information could be removed without losing meaning. The storyboard itself became an exercise in reduction.
